A truck drives across a flat stretch of land. It eventually slows down, coming to a full stop soon enough. The driver swears. His name is Nathan Greene, and he has every right to swear, considering that the nearest gas stop is four miles away. With an air of great indignity and frustration, Nate gets out of the truck, fishing a gas can from behind the seat, and begins the long walk to the station. For one Jonas Oldacre, the day began as any other. Brushing his teeth and hair, washing his face, and then fixing a tasty breakfast of eggs and toast. All this in preparation for a new, long day at work.
However, this preparation was in vain, because at the very instant the toast sprung, the universe exploded.
It was not a very fancy explosion, none of this Hollywood stuff, and was very down to business about its work. The work being to destroy anything in its path on the way to its target, which were, respectively, everywhere and everything.
